Beth Lenz | Vlogger, Coral Biologist + Performance Artist
Beth Lenz is from Northern California, and one of six children who’s parents come from Iowa and Hong Kong. Despite always loving nature and the outdoors, she had a long-standing fear of the ocean and did not learn how to swim until she was 20 years old. She fell in love with the ocean and marine ecosystems after learning about the impacts of climate change. She now has a PhD in Marine Biology – she specialized in tropical coral reefs and understanding their ability to reproduce as the ocean continues to warm. Currently, Beth is working in the U.S. House of Representatives with the Committee on Natural Resources where she focuses on policy that restores and conserves the ocean and wildlife. She is very excited to share her experiences and journey as a scientist with you all through SciAll.org! Be curious, ask questions, and get hands-on experience however you can!
