Misconception: Marine biologists vacation for ‘work’


My friends and family never believe me when I say I’m not on vacation when I’m working for months in the coral reefs of French Polynesia, or some other remote location. BUT, relaxation is a distant thought when you’re doing field research that demands the highest mental, physical, and emotional fortitude! Yep, doing science for a living is both awesome AND challenging.
